about taughnee
Well hello there! Unless you’ve clicked on the “about” link by mistake, you’re here to learn a little bit about me. And I thank you.
Your name is what?!
Taughnee Stone.
Don’t worry, Taughnee looks much more complicated than it is, and is simply pronounced “TAW-knee.”
Feel free to refer to me as “T” if you can’t be bothered with all of those other letters.
You live where?!
I live in Anchorage, Alaska.
What can I say, I like snow.
The obligatory resume stuff
I graduated with distinction and Phi Beta Kappa from Purdue University. As such, I require full disclosure if you’re an IU fan so I can give you the special rate card. I studied Communications (advertising concentration) with minors in Business Management and Political Science.
I have a strong foundation of 15 years experience in marketing and visual communications. Which in plain lingo means:
- I spent some time at a big-city advertising agency where I worked under the direction of world-class talent and contributed to several national campaigns;
- I worked in the retail sector, where I mastered exceptional customer service, visual merchandising, community relations, consumer behavior, and promotional techniques;
- I served in an executive capacity at a marketing research company, where I effectively managed projects and conduct web usability studies for clients - this experience gives me a unique insight about your site visitors;
- I taught myself HTML back in the 90s before a college course on the subject even existed, and have remained ahead of the curve ever since.
In short, I know the biz, and I know the web.
I established Endeavor Creative in January, 2002, and since then have developed a reputation for imaginative, reliable, and friendly service. I now serve the most amazing clients both close to home, as well as in most major US markets and as far reaching as the U.K. and Australia.
Will you enjoy working with me?
If you’re thinking, “What does that matter?” then maybe you’re not the right client for me. You see, I feel it’s really really important that we have a good rapport and communication is easy. If you feel the same, let me tell you a little bit about my communication and project management style:
I am:
- Very collaborative—I like lots of input;
- Not afraid to tell you when I disagree with you about something, it is my duty to give you the benefit of my experience;
- Patient—I enjoy teaching and empowering people, I will neither think nor make you feel stupid for asking a question, so don’t ever apologize, it’s what I’m here for;
- Mostly serious, but often informal and sometimes downright goofy—work can and should be playful;
Are you?
- Able communicate who you are and where you want to go?
- Passionate, enthusiastic, positive, excited?
- Willing to participate in the process?
- Of the opinion that a website is a communication tool that requires ongoing attention and effort?
If you answered yes to those questions, and think we’ll be a good match, I would be extremely excited to hear from you!
